Established in 2010, The ONPS international summer school program was the brainchild of a group of young entrepreneurs from Harvard University, Brandeis University, Ohio State University, and the University of British Columbia. As a pioneering program developed by the Beijing Simpway Education Technology Co. Ltd., ONPS’s vision is to “help students find their successful place in an ever-developing globalized world.” Aiming to improve educational exchange and communication between higher-learning institutions from around the globe, ONPS draws from a pool of international talents and resources and provides a first-rate educational service for young scholars of all nationalities and economic backgrounds.
After a near decade in the works, ONPS has established a unique educational platform that incorporates a globalized understanding of higher learning. The summer program brings together internationally recognized scholars, leading institutions of higher learning, brand-named corporations, and ambitious students to a single campus. The three main goals of ONPS is encapsulated in its 3C model: credit transfer, career development, and cultural engagement. We provide a North American standardized curriculum that can be transferred as course credit back to the student’s North American home university. Our program is also an opportunity for young students to network with other transnational students to bolster their career development. All the while, students can become immersed in the cultural environment presented by their university backdrop. The seven higher learning institutions participating in our one-of-a-kind program are: Qingdao University, Minzu University of China, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Fu Jen Catholic University, Soochow University, China Jiliang University, Myongji University and Northwest Missouri State University.
In collaboration with research scholars from Ivy League universities, ONPS is highly invested in developing short-term research programs that teach high school students to learn from a global perspective. Meanwhile, ONPS works with experts in various fields of arts and culture to provide a Chinese cultural-immersion experience. As one of our doctrines, ONPS aspires to cultivate the importance of cross-cultural exchange as a vehicle for education. Therefore, our students learn in the classroom, yet their pedagogical journey moves them beyond the campus and into selective cultural events and tours. In addition, ONPS invites prominent entrepreneurs and senior executives from top companies to work with students. They lend advice on career development, all the while inspiring ONPS students in becoming the next generation of global business leaders. We have opened recruitment offices in more than 200 universities around the world, covering 300,000 international students. By 2018, over 8,000 students from the United States, Canada, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan have elected to experience the ONPS International Summer School educational platform.
ONPS is dedicated to upholding strong academic values and building a global community. We look forward to bridging long-term collaborative efforts with leading universities from around the world. Through these cooperative agreements, we hope not only to promote healthy competition, but mutually develop a deeply meaningful and enriching academic and cultural exchange.
